Dechen Wangmo is a warm, thoughtful and culturally responsive Master of Social Work student offering low-fee individual counselling in Bunbury and online through the Bunbury Counselling Graduate & Intern Counselling Program. She provides a calm and supportive space for people to talk through life’s challenges, strengthen their wellbeing and feel heard without judgement. Her counselling practice is professionally supervised through WA Mental Health.


About Dechen

Dechen Wangmo is currently completing her Master of Social Work (Qualifying) at Edith Cowan University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in National Law.

Before commencing her social work studies, Dechen worked within the Bhutanese judiciary as a Court Registrar. In this role, she developed experience supporting people through complex personal and legal matters, including child-friendly practice, dispute resolution, and sensitive family and community concerns. Her legal and judiciary background is reflected in public Judiciary of Bhutan records and National Judicial Academy programme materials.

Dechen offers low-fee individual counselling in Bunbury and online through the Bunbury Counselling Graduate & Intern Counselling Program. Her practice is professionally supervised through WA Mental Health.

Dechen brings a compassionate, respectful and person-centred approach to counselling. She is passionate about social justice, emotional wellbeing and culturally responsive practice, and is committed to supporting people from diverse backgrounds with care, dignity and respect.

Dechen is fluent in English, Dzongkha, Sharchop, Hindi and Nepali.
